Local food not only tastes better but it provides more nutrition and helps support the local economy too. That's why whenever feasible we purchase products grown and manufactured as close to our district as possible.   

Local Apples

We buy fresh Maine apples from local farmers here in the greater Farmington area and beyond.  Maine apples not only taste better, but they are grown by hard working  people right here in Maine. 

Maine Milk from Maine Cows

The Mt. Blue School District is proud to partner with Oakhurst Dairy to provide fresh Maine milk for our students. Oakhurst milk contains no artificial growth hormones and is naturally nutrient rich!

ONLY Maine Blueberries

We use only Maine Blueberries for all our blueberry needs throughout the district. Most come from Wymans in Milbridge Maine. Honestly, wouldn't it just be wrong to do it any other way?

Tomatoes

​Many of the tomatoes used in our schools come from Backyard Farms in Madison Maine. The freshest tomatoes provide the most flavor and flavor and good nutrition is what it's all about!

The Glorious Maine Potato

Most of our potatoes and potato products are grown right here in Maine. And believe me, thats a lot of potatoes! We wouldn't have it any other way!
